Legendary Nigerian musician, Majekodunmi Fasheke a.k.a Majek Fashek has died in a New York hospital.
Fashek reportedly died in a New York hospital on Monday though the cause of his death is still unknown. The popular songwriter and guitarist was in and out of hospital for some years.n
Majek Fashek’s manager, Omenka Uzoma who confirmed his death, however called for celebration of the legend’s achievements in a short video.
Majek Fashek is best known for his 1988 album ‘Prisoner of Conscience’, which included the monster hit “Send Down the Rain”.
Before his death, he worked with various artists worldwide, including Tracy Chapman, Jimmy Cliff, Michael Jackson, Snoop Dogg and Beyoncé.
