After 18 years of waiting for a second child, A Nigerian pastor, Rev. Dr. Eseme Unen and his wife, Pastor Esther were blessed with triplets.
The pastor and General Overseer of Grace Impacts Baptist Church, Bariga, Lagos were full of joy when they presented the new born, a boy and two girls for dedication to God at a special thanksgiving service last week.
Pastor Esther who spoke about her experience, recalled how she prayed, fasted and sowed seed for the fruit of the womb, before God at His own appointed time answered her.
According to her, there were low moments, when she had to face the reality of wavering faith, but was grateful that God saw them through such periods.
She told how she was confronted with other challenges during the pregnancy , and how she spent six months in the hospital receiving treatment before the delivery.
Esther urged expectant couples to be patient, focusing on God and shunning the temptation to run to different churches in search of solution.
On his part, Rev Unen thanked God for granting them the grace to be steadfast and not bow before strange altars, during their trying period.
“It got to a point it seemed we were giving up but we persevered and God answered us,” he said.
The cleric said they fortified themselves against external pressure, which helped them to be steadfast in the face of challenges.
