Residents and business owners in Umuahia, the capital of Abia and Aba, the commercial hub of the State on Monday, stayed indoors in observance of the sit-at-home order being enforced by questionable persons.
There was no restriction of movements in the two cities but commercial banks, markets, private and public offices closed for businesses over fear of possible attack by enforcers of the sit-at-home order.
Some motor parks and other loading bays, which however opened for business, decried low patronage of commuters.
At the main park by Milverton and park road respectively, commercial tricyclists were seen loading in different parts of the city.
Some fuel stations, especially those within the main park area, also opened for business but attracted few customers.
Some street traders were seen around Ehi Road awaiting would-be customers.
It was the same scenario in Umuahia, the state capital as residents stayed away from their offices, shops and businesses.
Security agencies were absent from their various duty posts in Aba and Umuahia respectively.
Those who had urgent financial needs relied on Automated Machines (ATM) for transactions as bank premises remain closed.
