The Bayelsa State police Command has explained why the force has failed to rescue the mother of former Super Eagles coach, Mr. Samson Siasia after 62 days in the Kidnappers den.
The state’s Commissioner of Police, Uche Anozia who made this known on Friday, lamented the difficulties the police have been facing in rescuing Siasia’ mother, Mrs. Beauty Ogere..
Speaking to newsmen at the police headquarters in Yenagoa, the police boss said the kidnappers have been changing their locations.
According to him, the police operatives had, shortly after her abduction, “sourced for useful information that gave investigators a promising lead to some locations within the creeks where the victim may have been kept.”
“The police have been trailing the abductors in spite of the fact that they have been changing locations.
“The fundamental aspect of our operations that is of interest to us is the achievement of positive result and not actually occasional dissemination of information concerning efforts being made by the police to achieve such result. This is why we have not been coming on air to update the public” he added.
Anozia concluded by stating that the police have intensified its effort with other security agencies in the rescue mission.
