After Twitter ban: Nigeria’s Attorney General orders prosecution of users

 

 

Nigeria’s Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami is spitting fire has directed the immediate prosecution of persons still using Twitter after President Muhammadu Buhari’s ban of the social media handle.

In a statement released by his media aide, Umar Gwandu, Malami directed the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation (DPPF) to commence the process of prosecution of violators of the government de-activation of operations of Twitter in Nigeria.

“Malami directed the DPPF to liaise with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy, Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) and other relevant government agencies to ensure the speedy prosecution of offenders without any further delay.” Part of the statement read.
