The Presidential Electoral Petition Tribunal has adjudged that President Buhari had the West African School Certificate Examination, WASCE, and so, qualified to contest the election.
This was the ruling of the tribunal which fixed Wednesday to rule on the petition filed by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate in the 2019 presidential election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
The tribunal said Buhari was not only qualified, but eminently qualified to contest the election, saying that the petitioners could not run away from the fact that Buhari obtained WASCE for qualification for the election.
The court said apart from being qualified, Buhari also obtained other certificates to validate claims that he is eminently qualified for the presidential poll.
Chairman of the tribunal, Garba Mohammed, therefore struck out the claims by the PDP and Atiku claiming that Buhari did not possess the needed qualification for the election and that he presented false information to INEC.
