After several weeks of battling the deadly coronavirus, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff Abba Kyari has died.

Abba Kyari died died on Friday, more than two weeks after he tested positive to Coronavirus.

Presidency spokesman, Garba Shehu, made the announcement on Twitter, where he said funeral arrangements will be made known soon.

He wrote: ”The Presidency regrets to announce the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari.

“The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020.”

”May God accept his soul. Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly.”

Kyari was a key player in Buhari’s kitchen cabinet, bestriding the presidency like the proverbial colossus.
