FG drags Sowore, four others to court over New Year’s eve protest

The Federal Government on Monday January 4, arraigned Omoyele Sowore, and four others at the Wuse Zone 2 Abuja Magistrate’s court over a protest against bad governance on New Year’s Eve in Abuja.

Sowore and the four others are standing trial on three charge of Criminal conspiracy, unlawful assembly, and attempting to incite others against the government.

The SaharaReporters publisher had prior to the protest, charged Nigerians on Twitter to hold a crossover protest by picking up a candle and a placard showing their grievances against the Buhari administration.

Sowore had in 2019, been arrested and detained for over 100 days for calling for a #RevolutionNowProtest.
