Final year varsity student dies from stray bullet in Delta

 

A final year student of the University of Port Harcourt Nzete Ogochukwu Patrick has died from a stray bullet while returning from church in Delta.

The 500-level student of Electrical Engineering, died after he was hit by the stray bullet in Ogume town in Ndokwa West local government area on Sunday, August 16.

Nzete was reportedly on his way home from church when he got hit by the bullet during renewed hostilities in a communal clash within his community.

Some of Nzete’s colleagues and friends took to the social media to mourn his demise.

Meanwhile, students under the aegis of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) and National Association of Delta State Students (NADESSTU) in Delta state, on Monday, August 17, staged a protest over Ogochukwu’s death.

They called on the state government to ensure the police investigates Nzete’s killing and apprehend the culprits.
