Fire guts CBN Gombe branch

The Central Bank of Nigeria branch office in Gombe State was gutted by fire on Friday. The fire was said to have started at about 10am.

This latest fire outbreak swells the ranks of key government offices hit by inferno across the country in recent times.

It would be recalled that on April 8, fire broke out at the Treasury House, a building housing the Accountant-General of the Federation’s office.

A week after that incident, there was another fire outbreak at the headquarters of the Corporate Affairs Commission, while the Independent National Electoral Commission’s office in Abuja also went up in flames days after.

The Jos branch of the CBN in Plateau State was not spared as it was gutted by fire on April 22.
