The Imo State Governor, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha has appointed Nigerian football legend, Kanu Nwankwo as Senior Special Assistant on Sports matters to Imo state.
The appointment was confirmed during a special dinner which took place at the Government House in Owerri on Wednesday.
This will be Kanu’s first political appointment since he retired from football in 2011. In his new role, Nwankwo popularly known as Papilo, is expected to help the Imo state government in developing the sports sector and also advise Governor Ihedioha on sports-related issues.
