A 35-year-old man, Janaidu Mohammed, has landed in court over alleged stealing of two cows.
Mohammed who allegedly stole the two cows from herders, Friday, appeared before a Karu Grade I Area Court, Abuja.
The police charged Mohammed, a resident of Karu Village, Abuja with joint act and theft. He, however, denied the charge.
The prosecutor, Vincent Osuji, told the court that one Idris Abdullahi of Kurudu, Abuja, reported the matter at the Karu Police Station on March 13.
Osuji said the defendant conspired with three others at large with common intention and tied up the complainant’s two sons who are minors. He said the defendant stole the complainant’s two cows.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 79 and 287 of the Penal Code.
The judge, Sani Mohammed, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100, 000, with one surety in like sum.
Mohammed adjourned the case until April 10 for hearing.
