Nigeria’s first executive president Alhaji Shehu Shagari has died at age 93 years. Shagari passed away today, Friday December 28th at the National Hospital Abuja after a brief illness.
Shagari who ruled Nigeria in the second republic, between 1979 and 1983, was overthrown in a coup plot by then military dictator, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, now Nigeria’s civilian president.
