The Ogun State Government reached out to industries in the State to create employment for graduates of technical colleges.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Technical Education, Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa who made this known during a media chat at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta,
said collaboration was underway with industries and organisations to employ semi-skilled workers through creation of Liaison Offices in technical colleges across the State.
Odemuyiwa stated that the move would also allow government to tailor its teaching curriculum towards the needs of these industries.
The governor’s aide explained that the liaison offices would be saddled with deliberate relationship between the industries and colleges, in order to identify technical staff’s needs, as well as dual apprenticeship placements at all government science and technical colleges.
He stressed that the Dapo Abiodun-led administration was determined to create employment opportunities for the products of technical and vocational schools, after the successful completion of their training, in order to further boost the State’s economy.
