The Ogun State Government has given conditions for the reopening of schools in the state.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Technical Education, Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa said reopening of schools would be possible if necessary precautions will be adhered to by schools’ management and the students.
Prof. Odemuyiwa made this known while speaking to newsmen in Abeokuta, explaining that Government was not pleased that learners were missing out in their academic calendar.
According to him, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the educational system across the world, leading to closure of schools at all levels.
Odemuyiwa explained that plans were in top gear to contain the virus, adding that the essence of vocational education was to be relevant and dependable, which, he said, could be achieved through craftsmanship and being entrepreneurial.
The governor’s aide advised learners to engage in vocational training at this period, stressing that the Government needs them to achieve the industrial revolution being craved for in Nigeria.
