The Ogun State Government has called on associations of Technical and Vocational organizations in the state to partner the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to ease the operation and certification of their schools/Workshops.
Gov. Dapo Abiodun’s Special Adviser on Technical Education, Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa, disclosed this when the Association of Technical and Vocational Schools Proprietors of Nigeria paid him a visit at his office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Prof. Odemuyiwa, said that there was a lot of benefits for partnering with the Government such as grant, contracts and Trade fair to give exposure to their artisanship to the world.
He noted that the negative mind set of the society toward Technical/Vocational Education would be changed as the Government would not stop at achieving the best for its citizenry.
The State Chairman, National Association of Technical and Vocational Schools Proprietors of Nigeria, Engr. Akin Olutayo, in his remarks pledged its partnership with the State Government on the success story of Technical/Vocational Education in the State.
He said that the association identify with the State Government on promotion and development of Technical studies in the State, noting that they are ready to partner in developing the State’s technical and vocational education.
Olutayo appealed to the State Government on the registration of its association for easy assessment and registration noting that they are ready for approval procedures of their schools by the State Government.
