The Ondo state governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu has tested positive for Coronavirus. The governor said he is, however, asymptomatic.
Akeredolu, 63, made this known during a press conference in Akure, the state capital today June 30.
His words; ”I had malaria a few days ago and was treated. I did get over it and as at the time we had our party NEC and my colleagues called on me, I spoke with one of them who felt that malaria shouldn’t be treated lightly but that I should go ahead and have a test for COVID-19.
“The result come out today June 30 and I tested positive.
“I am asymptomatic. I am not feeling sick nor feeling hot in anyway but my doctors have decided I should take the normal treatment and self isolate. I believe that supervised home management will be ideal for me for now and so from now I will be isolated and go on with the supervised home management”.
Ondo state in South West Nigeria currently has 276 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
