PDP women leader dies in fatal road accident
Tragedy has struck the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as one of its women leaders, Mrs Toyin Ajinde, has died from injuries sustained in a fatal road crash.
Ajinde had slipped into coma after the accident and immediately rushed to the intensive care unit of the Trauma Centre in Ondo where she eventually gave up the ghost in the hospital.
Family sources said, “Toyin had been in coma since the accident occurred and she took the brute of the impact of the injury she sustained.”
PDP presidential candidate in the 2019 election, Alh. Atiku Abubakar took to his twitter handle to mourn her demise.
“Mrs Toyin Ajinde’s commitment to a better Nigeria was unparalleled. As a PDP woman leader in Ondo, she worked tirelessly to achieve this. I knew this because she was my longtime staunch supporter. I’m saddened by her loss. May her family be comforted & her soul rest in peace’.
