Peter Obi’s advises Gov. Ihedioha on 4 dangers to overcome as governor
Former Governor of Anambra State and Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 presidential election, Mr. Peter Obi has presented four items of palpable danger to newly inaugurated Imo State governor, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, urging him to be aware and avoid them if he must endear himself to his people and succeed as governor.
Obi is widely known to be frugal with spending which largely endeared him to the heart of many Nigerians and perhaps paved the way for his selection as Vice Presidential candidate by the PDP flag-bearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. He offered Ihedioha the ‘panacea to success as governor recently.
Below are the looming dangers which are variously ostentatious living and largely led to the poor performance of many governors over the years.
“Don’t fly chartered jets. Don’t Waste Imo State money on Chartered Jets. Why pay for millions when you can pay N40,000 and get to your destination.
“Office of the First Lady. It cost millions to maintain that office and you cannot afford it. Imo state is in a mess. Your wife is the first lady of your house and heart, let her continue with her career.
“Don’t turn Government house into a party house, those that want to drink should go to any bar elsewhere.
“Listen to those that criticise you, they are your best advisers. Always find out why they were criticising you.
“Your predecessor left a debt of N100 billion verified. But for free advice on debt management, I will recommend former governor of Cross River Lyle Imoke,’ Obi advanced.
