Police officer kills ‘Okada’ rider for not wearing face mask

A police officer in Orlu Imo State has allegedly shot dead a motorcyclist also called Okada rider over failure to wear a face mask.

was shot dead allegedly by a police officer around Banana junction in Orlu, Imo state today July 9.

The policeman had reportedly stopped the yet-to-be identified motorcycle rider for not wearing a face mask around the Banana Junction Orlu.

An altercation was said to have ensued between both men after the Okada man allegedly refused to give the policeman a N50 bribe he demanded from him.

Pandemonium broke out in the area is currently as residents and other Okada riders began to protest, demanding justice for the deceased Okada rider.

The State police command is yet to comment on the incident.
