Barely 24 hours after the country suffered a total grid collapse resulting in the country thrown into a blackout, the distribution companies have announced another total grid collapse.
The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) announced that the South East had suffered another electricity grid collapse in the five states of Enugu, Anambra, Imo, Abia and Ebonyi on Tuesday, March 15, barely 24 hours after the last incident.
The Head, Corporate Communications, EEDC, Mr Emeka Ezeh, made this known in a statement on Tuesday in Enugu.
According to Ezeh, the EEDC wishes to inform our esteemed customers of another system collapse which occurred at 5:10p.m. this evening, Tuesday, March 15, 2022.
He said, “This is coming barely 24 hours after the national grid collapse experienced in the early hours of Monday, March 14 at about 10:45 a.m.
“As a result of this unfortunate development, all our outgoing feeders are out and supply to our customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States has been affected.
“We are currently on standby, awaiting further directive from the National Control Centre (NCC) for restoration of supply”.
In the same vein, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) announced that as a result of total system collapse of the national grid, all networks across its franchise have been thrown into darkness.
Making this disclosure via a statement signed by IBEDC management by Kikelomo Owoeye, its Osun Region spokesperson, stated that the system collapse occurred at 17:09 hours on Tuesday, March 15, 2022.
While apologising for the inconvenience, the statement also added that the public utility company was monitoring the situation with the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) with a view to keeping the customers updated on the situation.

Dear esteemed customer,
“We regret to inform you of a total system collapse on the national grid at 1709hrs of today Tuesday 15 March, 2022 leading to outages across our network.
”We are closely monitoring the situation with our TCN partners and will keep you updated on the situation.
”We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience”.
