Presidency claims Boko Haram pushed out of North-east, remaining Borno

The Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai has revealed that the army has succeeded in clearing the Boko Haram terrorists from all the north-eastern states except Borno State.

Buratai made the claim during a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari and Governors from the North-East states on Monday where he further disclosed that troops are sharing intelligence to rout the insurgents out of Borno.

Presidential spokesperson Garba Shehu quoted Buratai in a statement he released;

“There are no Boko Haram terrorists in neighbouring states. They have been pushed out, and now cornered in Borno State.

“We are coordinating with civil and traditional authorities, mobilising and reinforcing and all we need is patience. We will not relent.”
