Prices of food stuff are coming down- Presidency

Without officially exiting first recession, Nigeria plunges into another recession

The President Muhammadu Buhari Government has said that the prices of foodstuff in the Nigerian markets have come down.

Buhari’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu made this claim during a Channels Television interview where he queried where the Nigerian media got their figures showing rising cost.

Shehu challenged newsmen to visit foodstuff markets across the country to confirm the falling prices which he averred, is reducing the cost of living.

The president’s spokesman cited the markets in Kano State, saying that bag of rice has gone to as low as N20,000.

Meanwhile, Garba Shehu’s assertion has drawn harsh reaction from Nigerians who said the officials of this government are either not facing reality or are dwelling in deceit.

Others also described the officials as grossly insensitive to the hardship Nigerians are going through due to the policies of this government.
