A former commissioner for Education in Katsina State, Halimatu Sa’adiya Idris, was Sunday, killed by armed robbers along Abuja-Kaduna road.
The Abuja-Kaduna Road has been a flashpoint of armed robbery attacks and kidnapping in the last couple years and the police have been battling rid the road of the criminals.
The hoodlums have been notorious for attacking travelers on the busy road. Reports said the robbers killed several of the travelers and allegedly abducted some. The attack occurred near Gidan Busa village, located between Jere and Kateri along the expressway.

A sympathizer who posted the incident on social media stated, “I just learnt that we lost our former Katsina State commissioner of Education Prof. “Halimatu Sa’adiya Idris” as a result of gunshot by bandits last night along Kaduna/Abuja road.
