Boko Haram terrorists reportedly fired mortars into Maiduguri, the Borno State capital on Sallah eve, Thursday, July
The first blast was said to have rocked Gwannge, a residential area around 6pm while the other blast occurred at a car mall at Mairi in the state capital.
Commissioner of police in Borno state, Mohammed Aliyu who confirmed the incident said one person was killed while 16 others sustained injuries.
“We have dispatched our explosive ordinance detection (EOD) team to investigate the incidents and to determine whether improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were used.
“Right now, I am at the Specialist Hospital where we have 16 persons with one dead, so far.”
