United States President Donald Trump, was rattled and hurriedly scurried out of his media briefing on coronavirus, Monday, after security operatives shot an “armed suspect” outside the White House.
Trump was reportedly evacuated from the briefing room just minutes into his press conference.
Media men in the briefing room said they saw an agent lock the doors from the exterior after the president was escorted out.
Trump later returned to the press conference telling journalists that the suspect was shot by law enforcement and rushed to hospital, but failed to disclose if the suspect was a male or female. Trump said he was escorted to the Oval Office by the agent who locked the briefing room.
“There was a shooting outside of the White House and it seems to be very well under control.
“I would like to thank the Secret Service for doing their always quick and very effective work.
“The world has always been a dangerous place. Not something that is unique.
“You look back over the centuries, the world has been a dangerous place, very dangerous place, and it will continue, I guess, for a period of time,” he said.
“I’m sorry for the disturbance before, things happen,” he told reporters as he finished the press conference.
