Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina has taken a swipe at critics of Buhari’s style of leadership, saying that the critics will criticise everything the president does.
Adesina who was a guest of the Channels Television ‘Politics Today’ programme on Sunday, said some of these critics will critise the president on everything and when they find nothing to criticise, they will even criticise themselves.
The spokesman was reacting to criticism of Buhari’s statement which he made few hours after he returned to the from his ten-day vacation to the United Kingdom, in which he said that he will send more corrupt persons to jail.

Nigerians expressed the opinion that Buhari who just arrived from the vacation should have addressed the nation on issues of alleviating the poverty and hunger in the land, lifting Nigerians from unemployment rather than spitting fire about corruption and jailing people.
Adesina, however, stated that criticism was a part of the attitude of many Nigerians. “They will criticize anything and everything and when they don’t see anything to criticise they will even criticise themselves. Indeed, they will find fault with God. When they get to heaven they will criticize God,” Adesina said.

The Special adviser also reacted to the press statements by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) pointing out that the party writes statement on everything, no matter how insignificant.
In his words; “The PDP will write a statement on virtually everything. When a cockroach flies they will write a statement, when a mosquito flies they will also write. Nobody should lose any sleep over the party’s statements”.
