The government of South Africa has denied xenophobic attack by its citizens against Nigerians living in South African.
That country’s High Commissioner to Nigeria Bobby Monroe debunked the reports and viral videos of the attack which was carried out on Monday, sying the attack was sporadic.
Monroe made this known when he met with the Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, in Abuja this morning.
Speaking during a media briefing after the meeting with Onyeama, Monroe said the recent attacks were not ”xenophobic” in nature but were rather mere ‘sporadic acts of violence’.
He also said businesses belonging to other South Africans were also affected in the violence that erupted on Monday.
