Taraba State loses Commissioner to illness


The commissioner for Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation Taraba State’ Hon. Naphtali Kefas, has died.

Kefas died on Thursday at the Federal Medical Center in Jalingo after a protracted illness.

The commissioner died barely a month after the Commissioner for Rural Development, Hon. Makus Senlo died in a Yola hospital.

Special Adviser to Governor Darius Ishaku on Media and Publicity, Bala Dan-Abu confirmed the death of the commissioner in a statement released on Friday.

Part of the statement read It read;

“The death of Kefas has robbed the state of the services of a patriotic and hard-working gentleman

“The late Kefas was a very gentle and compassionate man, the reason why he was posted to the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation to help implement government’s pragmatic programme of giving hope and succour to the poor and the needy.”

Before his death, Kefas was reportedly flown to Dubai for treatment at different occasions.
