Thanksgiving is debt we owe God- John Praise

The General overseer of the Dominion Chapel Int’l Church, Arch –Bishop John Praise Daniel, has described Thanksgiving as a gift every Christian owes God.

John Praise made this known on Sunday during the Annual Thanksgiving Service of the New Christian Power Center (NCPC) Int’l, located at Dawaki Extension by News Engineering, along Kubwa Suleja Expressway in Bwari Area Council, Abuja.

The NCPC 2020 Annual Thanksgiving with the theme, “Lord We Are Grateful” kicked off on Friday, December 11, 2020. The day  was dedicated to Praise and Worship.

Arch Bishop John Praise who preached on the topic; ‘The Voice of Thanksgiving,’ harped on the importance of always giving thanks, stressing that it should be the lifestyle of every Christian. “Thanksgiving should always  proceed from the mouth of every believer,” he said.

The former President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) listed several attitudes believers must adopt in thanking God. According to him, believers must give God thanksgiving as a sacrifice; give timely thanks to God and offer thanks that will glorify God.

He also noted that giving thanks to God produces increase in the life of believers and so, they should ensure that it is done continually and unconditionally.

The senior pastor of NCPC, Rev. Dr. Mrs. Charity Edeki, in her speech said the theme of the Thanksgiving was informed by the great and awesome things God did in the life of members of the church especially in this year of the coronavirus pandemic and economic recession.

“God did so much for us this year as a church. With all the terrible things that happened this year; the COVID-19, the economic recession, killings, kidnappings, banditry and more, God did not allow any evil to befall our people both here in Nigeria, Europe and America. We have every reason to be grateful,” she preached.
