US records 50,000 Coronavirus deaths after 2,416 people died in 24 hours, cases hit 890,000

 

The US has recorded 50,000 Coronavirus deaths on Thursday evening, as the number of confirmed cases rose to 890,027.

The latest figures showed that additional 2,416 deaths were confirmed, bringing the total to 50,442. Confirmed cases rose by 34,828 bringing the total cases across the nation to 891,622.

According to the figures, the U.S. has both the highest number of confirmed cases in the world as well as the highest death toll

The University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation said it expects the national death toll to hit 65,976 by August.
