Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum’s has suffered Boko Haram convoy attacks twice in two days, a coear indication of failure of security intelligence.
The Boko Haram attack occurred on Sunday September 27, barely 48 hours after his convoy came under a similar attack on Friday September 25 in which over 30 persons, including security operatives were killed..
The Sunday incident occurred along Baga-Kukawa axis of Borno and it was learnt that troops of the Nigerian air force were mobilised immediately to the scene of the incident and were able to foil the attack.
The ambush reportedly led to the shooting of a back tyre of the vehicle/bus conveying Journalists attached to the governor, but the driver expertly manuveared and drove the vehicle on the flat wheel to escape the scene.
It was further learnt that one of the soldiers attached to the convoy reportedly sustained injuries during the attack.
