Without enforcing protocol, FG makes COVID19 vaccination compulsory for civil servants

The federal government has directed civil servants to ensure that they take the COVID 19 vaccine or be locked out of their offices .

This is in spite of zero compliance of the COVID-19 protocol by most Nigerians due to zero enforcement by the authorities. Wearing of facemask and social distances have been complied with on the contrary.

The social distancing mandate has been breached at public gatherings including schools, recreational centers, religious worship centers, private and public offices as well as in ministries.

The secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha who made this known to newsmen on Wednesday, said beginning from December 1, civil servants will be required to show their COVID19 vaccination before they can gain access into any government office.

Mustapha who doubles as the chairman of the presidential steering committee (PSC) speaking at a press conference, said;

“With effect from 1st December, 2021, Federal Government employees shall be required to show proof of COVID19 vaccination or present a negative COVID-19 PCR test result done within 72 hours, to gain access to their offices, in all locations within Nigeria and our Missions. An appropriate service wide advisory/circular will be issued to guide the process”.

By extension, visitors coming to the ministries may be required to take the vaccine jabs or also show a negative COVID -19
