Yobe State has lost its Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly, Dr Ibrahim Kurmi.
Family sources confirmed the death and disclosed that, Kurmi died at the Yobe State University Teaching Hospital Damaturu Monday night after a long battle with an undisclosed ailment. He was 48 years old.
Kurmi who was born in March 23rd 1971, trained medical doctor, represented Fika/Gadaka constituency in the state assembly and was first elected deputy speaker in 2011, before his resignation in 2012.
He was re-elected to represent his constituency for the second time in 2015 and was again made the deputy speaker, a position he occupied until his death.
Kurmi is survived by two wives and many children.
